Chances are if you’re reading this right now, at some point in your life you’ve tried to lose weight. You told yourself you need to be healthier, you need to get back in shape, you need to become more fit, whatever that means to you.

You’ve probably tried different diets and programs: keto, paleo, weight watchers, Adkins, or different challenges because there are so many out there. The 6-week challenges, the boot camps, etc. and chances are you’ve seen a little success, but it wasn’t permanent was it?

You’ve probably spent a good portion of your life starting and stopping, going back and forth between losing weight and gaining weight, becoming more fit and healthy and then slipping or falling off track. You starve yourself for a week and then binge. You get motivated on Monday, and by Friday you want to throw in the towel.

In this post, I wanted to talk to you about the ONE thing that’s holding you back; the number one reason why you haven’t been able to achieve long-term success and permanent results.

It’s because you’re relying on external tactics to get you there instead of adopting a new mindset, or shifting the identity you have for yourself and adopting a new lifestyle by creating the life that you want.

When you rely on diets and workouts and these fad programs going around, all you’re doing is simply trying to mask a bigger problem with a temporary solution.

You’re searching for that quick fix; you’re searching for that magic answer to get you faster results of where you want to be, and it never happens.

It’s because you’re still operating with the same mindset, the same habits, the same routines and the same rituals that got you to where you are right now; everything that you do right now is what is holding you back.

The way that you think about life, the way you think about yourself, the way you deal with stress, the way you deal with your emotions, the way you look at food and the relationship you have with food and exercise, that’s what matters.

You don’t need more accountability or motivation. You don’t need another special diet or nutrition program. You don’t need to try HIIT, or kick boxing, or whatever else seems flashy and promises you quick, amazing results.

Until you actually sit down and learn how to change your habits, shift your mindset and create that lifestyle and version of yourself you want to be, you won’t actually ever achieve long-term success or results.

At best, you may get a temporary result, you may lose a few pounds and feel a little better and get a little stronger after a couple of weeks, but eventually you will fall off track, and those same bad habits will creep up; when life punches you in the face and knocks you down and throws you a curveball and you go back to square one-then what?
